Indian Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan recently acknowledged his country’s defeat in the narrative war against Pakistan. After three weeks of denying air force losses during the four-day conflict with Pakistan, General Chauhan finally confirmed they lost an unspecified number of fighter jets. This admission exposed the Indian state’s false narrative against Pakistan.
Historical evidence shows that the BJP government under Narendra Modi engages in state-sponsored terrorism against Pakistan while building a false narrative to hide its policies. Pakistan had been defensive in this narrative war until May 2025, when the failure of Operation Sindoor provided an opportunity to expose Indian lies and hypocrisy.
Modi is not merely an individual. He embodies the mindset of the ruling party of India. This extremist ideology led to the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. Later, its proponents denied any culpability.
Mahatma Gandhi, India’s “father of the nation,” was killed by Hindu extremist Nathuram Godse in January 1948, just six months after independence. A clear connection exists between Gandhi’s assassin and today’s ruling BJP; both share the same extremist ideology.
Many BJP leaders openly praise Godse, calling this terrorist a “patriot” and “son of the soil.” What does this say about leaders who praise their “Bapu’s” killer? Godse belonged to the RSS, and the BJP serves as the RSS’s political wing. Though Godse claimed he had left the RSS, a recent BBC investigation revealed this was false. He never left the organisation.
RSS and BJP are emerging as a threat not only to India but also to the whole of South Asia and international peace.
The RSS has been repeatedly banned for violence and hate. It was first banned in January 1947 for bomb attacks against Muslims and served as a major participant in the 1947 Muslim genocide in East Punjab and Jammu. The organisation was banned again after Gandhi’s assassination in February 1948, then by Indira Gandhi in 1975, and once more after the Babri Mosque demolition in 1992.
The RSS rejects India’s national symbols. M.S. Golwalkar, RSS’s second chief, opposed adopting the tricolour flag in his book Bunch of Thoughts, preferring a saffron flag instead. The organisation also rejects India’s constitution.
Modi often accuses Pakistan of sponsoring terrorism without evidence, yet extensive documentation proves his association with the RSS. Western media dubbed him the “Butcher of Gujarat” for ordering the 2002 Muslim massacre while serving as chief minister.
Former RSS worker Yashwant Shinde confessed in 2022 that he was trained for terrorist activities in both Pakistan and India that could be blamed on Muslims. Current RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, who enjoys prime ministerial protocol, claims all Indian citizens are Hindus and regularly attacks Christians and Muslims. He once alleged that Mother Teresa’s charity work had only one objective: to convert the poor to Christianity. These kinds of statements encouraged Hindu extremists to attack Christians in different parts of India.
Hindu extremism has embedded itself in all of India’s institutions, even the military. On May 30, 2025, Army Chief General Upendra met controversial religious leader Jagadguru Rambhadracharya while in uniform. Jagadguru demanded Pakistan-administered Kashmir, which the Army Chief reportedly accepted. This religious extremist supported the Babri Mosque demolition and attacks on low-caste Hindus.
This troika - a “butcher” prime minister, an extremist RSS chief, and a compliant army chief - threatens not just India’s minorities but all of South Asia. BJP and RSS promote “Akhand Bharat” (Greater India), envisioning expansion from Afghanistan to Thailand and Myanmar to Sri Lanka.
The BJP government displayed an Akhand Bharat map in Parliament, raising alarms across South Asia. CNN called this a “neo-imperialist concept”, reflecting an expansionist mindset that violates international law and provides evidence of state-sponsored terrorist planning.
According to RSS ideology, this expansion would force all non-Hindus to convert through their “Ghar Wapsi” programme, already active for years. According to the ideology of Mohan Bhagwat, all citizens of India are Hindus. BJP and RSS hope to occupy the entire South Asia in the first stage and then forcibly convert non-Hindus to their religion.
It is important to mention here that not all Indian Hindus identify with the ideas and aspirations of the BJP and RSS. A large number of Indian Hindus disagree with the ideology of Modi and Mohan Bhagwat. I am only trying to expose the hypocrisy of Modi. He always blames Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism in Kashmir. The fact is that the freedom movement in Kashmir started long before the creation of Pakistan. There are other separatist movements in India. Some of these liberation movements started before 1947. Nagaland Liberation Movement is an example.
There is increasing evidence showing India’s involvement in regional destabilisation. RAW attempts to create “Bangabhumi,” a Bengali Hindu state, to break up Bangladesh. The Guardian in April 2024 and the Washington Post in December 2024 exposed Indian state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan. Scholar Avinash Paliwal documented Indian links to Pakistani terror groups in My Enemy's Enemy.
Modi, the biggest terrorism sponsor in South Asia, used false narratives to justify attacking Pakistan in May 2025, with only Israel supporting him. South Asian countries should jointly oppose the Akhand Bharat plan at the United Nations. Indians must stand against the BJP and RSS, the same forces that killed their nation’s father and now threaten India’s future as a nation.
