Taylor Swift sparks buzz about special 'announcement' at VMAs

Taylor Swift has excited fans for the upcoming MTV VMAs as her team has been increasingly promoting the nominations and urging Swifties to vote.

The 36-year-old pop superstar is expected to be attendance at the award ceremony on Sunday, September 27, and fans believe that she will be making a "major announcement" during the show.

Swift is no stranger to using award acceptance speeches as an address to fans - whether to drop Easter Eggs about future announcements or announcing albums directly. 

The Grammy winner announced her album Midnights as well as The Tortured Poets Department during VMAs and Grammys, respectively, and Swifties are theorising about the same happening for TS13 this time.

Taking to social media, fans began to debate how Taylor Nation has been incessantly promoting the awards, writing, "The last time we saw this kind of vma push she announced Midnights-" and "even posting on tiktok like that's kinda rare."

A third chimed in, "She wants us to vote for her to win because she is making an announcement," while others echoed, "yup she definitely announcing it at VMAs cause they're wayyy too much promoting," and "a major announcement is coming I feel it in my veins."

Someone noted, "Girl they're posting about the vmas DAILY," and another argued, "maybe if she doesn’t win at the VMAS (that happening is unlikely) she’s using the CMAS as backup because she hasn’t been attending this much music awards in awhile."

Swift is one of the most nominated artist at the upcoming ceremony, second only to Madonna, and she will become the most awarded artist in the history of the award show if she wins any of the categories she has been nominated for.
