Andrew Scott is coming back to the stage with Sea Wall, a play that has been an important part of his career.
Scott will perform the play in New York from October 16 to October 30. There will be 19 shows at Studio Seaview.
The play will also be made into a movie. But the movie will not just show Scott on stage. It will also show what happens behind the scenes and how people in the audience watch the show.
Scott plays Alex, a photographer whose life changes after something very sad happens to his family. He tells his story alone on stage, sharing what he feels and how he tries to deal with his pain.
Sea Wall was written by Simon Stephens for Scott. It first came to the stage in London in 2008. Scott later played Alex again in London in 2018.
Tina Satter will direct both the new play and the movie.
Scott is also getting attention for his role in Elsinore. In the film, he plays actor Ian Charleson, who performed Hamlet while secretly living with AIDS.
His return to Sea Wall will give fans another chance to see him in a role that many people remember from his earlier stage work.
