3-year-old Crocodile attack survivor returns home after seven operations

The three-year-old boy who was attacked by a crocodile in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, on June 18, 2026, has returned home from the hospital and is recovering well, his family shared.

The family said that the boy appears to be happy since returning home a few weeks ago.

In an update on the fundraising page, the family said: “Now that we are home, our son's rehabilitation journey continues and we can focus on ensuring our son has the best possible chance at recovery.”

“We attend the hospital frequently to find out the next steps and we work on them together as a family. All of his immediate surgeries are over for now, which means we can now focus on rehabilitation at home.”

In an earlier update, the boy’s family stated that the three-year-old had undergone seven operations.

The fundraiser, which was set up to provide financial support to the family while the boy was recovering in hospital, has raised around £113,000 to date.

Earlier, the police apprehended a 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder who was later released on bail. According to BBC, the detained individual has learning disabilities and police assessed that he was not fit for interview at the time.

He is on bail until September 18, 2026.
