Meghan Markle Hollywood dream deals with first huge setback of 2026

Meghan Markle dealt with a big blow which may spoil her plan to be behind the camera and rule Hollywood.

For the unversed, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex served as executive producers of the documentary Cookie Queens under their Archewell Productions banner.

The film was recently released but failed to grab attention. As per The Times, the Girl Scout Cookie doc was beaten at the US box office by a cat video compilation.

Cookie Queens earned less than £250,000 from 446 cinemas; it also did not make it to the Top 10.

Sources from the film industry called Meghan's return with Cookie Queens "pretty pitiful."

On the other hand, CatVideosFest 2026 took £420,000 despite being screened in fewer cinemas than Cookie Queens.

It is important to note that the Sussexes are already reportedly facing financial issues. In order to sustain their luxurious lifestyle, earnings from the entertainment sector are one of their main sources.

But only their bombshell Netflix documentary revolving around the royal drama marked success.
