Prince Harry ‘felt every word' during performance after laughing at royal joke

Sydnie Christmas had already managed to make Prince Harry laugh before she left the stage at David Foster’s charity gala.

The 31-year-old singer, who won Britain’s Got Talent in 2024, revealed that she joked about Harry’s father, King Charles, during her performance.

“When I was on stage, I joked about meeting his dad before adding, ‘Sorry he couldn’t make it. He sent me instead,’” Christmas told The Sun.

The singer admitted that nerves got the better of her in the moment.

“Oh my god, I say such silly things when I’m nervous,” she recalled, although Harry took the joke in good humour and burst out laughing.

But after she finished her set, the mood became far more heartfelt.

Harry approached Christmas and praised her performance, telling her: “Sydnie, I felt every word. I really felt that in the back of my throat.”

The singer said the unexpected compliment left her stunned after performing two songs.

Then Harry pulled Christmas into an embrace, turning their brief encounter into one of the evening’s most memorable moments.

One fan joked that they “can’t believe he’s so star-struck to see you”, while another praised Christmas for “hob-knobbing with royalty again”.
