Palace shares update as young princess takes major turn for future role

The Royal Families across Europe appear to be undergoing a major shift as new generation prepares to take their destined roles in the future.

While Prince William and Princess Catherine are ready to send off Prince George, the heir to the throne, to begin his secondary education, a Norwegian Princess is also taking a major leap.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra, the 22-year-old daughter of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was welcomed to the University of Oslo, as Palace issued an update on her arrival.

In a statement released by the Royal House of Norway, the details of her courses were shared, indicating her strong interest in taking lead in maintaining peace in the region.

However, the young royal seemed to have made a compassionate decision following the health update of her mother. It is understood that in order to be close to her family, Alexandra has returned to Norway and will spend the autumn semester of 2026 as an exchange student.

“The princess began her bachelor’s degree in social studies at the University of Sydney in Australia in autumn 2025,” the statement read. 

“The study stay in Oslo is part of this study course, where she will be an exchange student at the Faculty of Social Sciences, among other things in the fields of comparative policy and conflict resolution.”
