King Charles delights 9-year-old actor with personal letter: ‘So proud'

King Charles, who had been diagnosed with cancer in 2024, has continued to receive treatment and his medical team as assured of a good progress.

In the meantime, the monarch has made a point about conducting his royal duties and engagements. He has taken a special interest in raising awareness about cancer and early detection in the public.

He particularly was appreciative of the efforts made by a young actor, based in London, who raised thousands for the treatment of his mother.

Darcy Tosun, a nine-year-old known for his part in National Theatre at Home: The Land of the Living (2025) and The Hack (2025), received an “incredible” reply from Buckingham Palace.

While the full letter was not revealed, it did mention that “The King has asked me to thank you for your most thoughtful letter”.

“We have been so busy at the company we completely forgot to post how our client Darcy got a lovely reply from His Majesty, who he wrote to about his cancer fundraising for macmillancancer,” reporter Lydia revealed.

“So proud of Darcy he raised thousands for charity after his mum was diagnosed and is now thankfully cancer-free, and now has received an incredible reply from The King!” she continued.

“Thank you @theroyalfamily for his reply! Well done Darcy so proud and excited to see what you do next!!!”
