Queen Camilla's meaningful mission receives high praise from beloved author

Queen Camilla may have had a rough start when it comes to her public perception, but all of that seems to be changing with one passion project that she shaped in a short span of time.

King Charles’s wife, who is an avid reader, founded a book club during the pandemic to promote reading its benefits among people. It ended up growing into a charity which fosters the love of literature in adults and children.

Renowned author the hit book, P.S. I love you, Cecelia Ahern praised the royal for new mission, which has been thriving since the past five years, and for setting it on a priority.

The Irish author revealed that she is looking forward to be at the Queen’s Reading Room Festival at Chatsworth next month. She will be joined by other authors including Kate Mosse, Jojo Moyes, Meg Mason and Elif Shafak.

“It’s such an honour to be invited. And I’m so excited that it’s at Chatsworth, which is such a stunning building,” she told Hello!.

She shared that it would be “an honour” to meet Queen Camilla and “fantastic” to have her at the event.

“I think it’s amazing that she's shining a light on books and the importance of reading,” Cecelia said. “I’m always grateful to anybody who puts that so high on their list of importance.”

She continued, “There’s an incredible list of authors and I will be getting to meet my readers, which I love doing. I am really excited to connect with other writers and have chats with them about the book world.”
