Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have parted ways after nearly two decades together.

The Oscar-winning actress and the French film director confirmed their separation to the Agence France-Presse news agency on Friday, June 27.

As per the former French couple, the purpose of their statement was “to avoid all speculation, rumors and risky interpretations.”

In a statement, Marion and Guillaume said that they were parting ways by “common accord” and with “mutual goodwill.”

However, they didn’t reveal the reason behind their separation.

For those unversed, Marion and Guillaume began dating in 2007 after starring opposite one another in 2003’s Love Me If You Dare.

The exes share two children - a son named Marcel and a baby girl.

Marion and Guillaume were considered one of the foremost power couples in the European entertainment industry.
