Prince Harry and Meghan's ‘Freedom Flight' takes a luxurious turn

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have touched down in Britain returning to the country they left behind six years ago.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at Birmingham Airport on Wednesday around lunchtime, according to The Telegraph, with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The Sussexes reportedly made the journey aboard a private jet, chosen for its comfort and space as the family prepares to spend an extended period in Britain.

The aircraft can accommodate up to 13 passengers and can be configured for overnight travel, including a double bed and individual sleeping arrangements.

Inside, the jet features plush leather seats, two bathrooms with branded amenities and a sofa area, while its luggage capacity allows for around 15 suitcases.

For a family beginning a new chapter on the other side of the Atlantic, however, even that generous space may not be enough for everything they plan to bring with them. 

They are expected to ship additional belongings as they establish their UK base.

The flight itself is also understood to have come with a substantial price tag.

A private international journey between Los Angeles and Britain can cost somewhere in the region from £150,000 to £200,000, depending on the aircraft and arrangements.

Harry and Meghan also left Britain aboard a private jet when they departed for North America in 2020. 

Their journey was later featured in their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, which showed the couple traveling with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, and their dogs.

The aircraft offered them private booths and plenty of room for their pets, who were shown settling into their own beds during the flight.

This time, Harry and Meghan are arriving in Britain with their children and reportedly preparing for a much longer stay.
