Buckingham Palace has shared a meaningful update after King Charles released an emotional statement to mark Prince William’s 43rd birthday.
The monarch released the statement to mark his elder son Prince William’s 43rd birthday on Saturday, June 21.
King Charles and Queen Camilla shared a photo of Prince William on their official X, formerly Twitter and Instagram handles with their well wishes.
They said, “Happy Birthday to The Prince of Wales!” followed by a balloon and confetti emoji.
The monarch apparently got emotional as he celebrated the special day of his elder son amid absence of Prince Harry, the younger child of the King.
Following King Charles message, the palace shared a post to mark Windrush Day.
Sharing the portraits on its official social media handles, the palace says “Today is Windrush Day: a day to mark the contribution of the Caribbean men, women and children who arrived in Britain after the Second World War to help rebuild the country.”
In 2023, the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the HMT Empire Windrush to British shores, the King commissioned ten artists to create portraits of ten pioneering members of the Windrush Generation.
The palace added, “These portraits are now proudly hung in Buckingham Palace.”
