David Beckham’s knighthood sparks a fierce debate about timeline and his similarities to Prince Harry.
British royals expert Hilary Fordwich recently stepped forward to offer her two cents about the similarities cropping up between David Beckham and King Charles now that he has been knighted.
She shared everything with Fox News Digital and started by pointing out what relationship now stands between the monarch and his ambassador for The King’s Foundation.
“David’s relationship with King Charles III has grown stronger in recent years, especially through their shared interest in beekeeping and environmental sustainability,” she said.
But when it comes to similarities of his family to that of King Charles’ youngest Prince Harry Ms Fordwich believes “interestingly, there are parallels between the Beckhams’ family feud and the Sussexes', similarities in generational divides and public perception.”
But “the Beckhams’ public alignment with the royals reinforces them as loyal subjects and national icons.” Not to mention via their work because “David and Victoria’s stalwart support and loyalty towards the royals via public support, charitable works and personal friendships is in stark contrast to their deliberate distance and resulting estrangement from Harry and Meghan.”
Plus with chatter about his knighthood in public view, the expert believes it “cements David’s legacy but also symbolically unites two prominent British families amid ongoing public scrutiny and internal drama.”
Commentator Richard Fitzwilliams though beleives an honour like this was long over due and said, “it is utterly ridiculous that it has taken until now to honor David Beckham, who is something of a phenomenon, with a knighthood.”
Because over the years his association with UNICEF was what brought the Olympic Games to Britain for example. Hence, “The value of [King Charles’] endorsement is simply amazing.”
“From his tattoos to his footwear, there is a fascination with everything about him. His wife, Victoria, who also received an OBE for her work as a designer, was a member of the Spice Girls, one of the most successful girl bands of all time,” he ended by saying.
