CDF Munir reaffirms Pakistan's commitment to boosting defence ties with Indonesia

• Indonesia’s Naval chief meets CDF Munir at GHQ.

Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding and brotherly relations with Indonesia, significantly in the defence and security domains, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)

According to the military’s media wing, CDF Munir reaffirmed the resolve during his meeting with Indonesia's Naval chief, Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali, who called on him at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

Admiral Ali appreciated the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their contributions towards regional peace and stability.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral defence cooperation were discussed, said ISPR.

The two sides expressed satisfaction over the existing military-to-military relations and reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen cooperation, particularly in the domains of professional training, defence collaboration and joint exercises, it added. 

Lebanese interior minister meets CDF Munir

Separately, Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad Al Hajjar, called on the field marshal at the GHQ, Rawalpindi, during his two-day visit to Pakistan, said the military’s media wing.

During the meeting, both dignitaries exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional security environment and prospects for further enhancing bilateral relations in security domain, said the ISPR.

“The importance of strengthening institutional linkages and fostering greater cooperation between the two countries’ security institutions was also emphasized,” it added.

The CDF reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Lebanon and expressed the desire to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of shared interest.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s contributions towards regional peace and stability and acknowledged the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
