Archie, Lilibet have ‘same royal protocol' like Wales cousins

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are now seemingly subjected to the same rule as their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s children started school earlier this week, which as not been disclosed to the public, at the same time as the Waleses children. While Charlotte and Louis continue in Lambrook, George has enrolled at Eton.

Even though King Charles has stressed that Harry and Meghan would be “private citizens”, the royal titles for Archie and Lilibet remain intact.

The Sussex children are following a key royal tradition, which Prince William and Prince Harry carried out during their schooling, to blend in with their peers.

“Harry and Meghan are absolutely not giving up their children’s titles,” a royal source told Rob Shuter. “They are Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and that isn’t changing.”

However, “school is school” and they “don’t want teachers calling out ‘Prince Archie’ across the playground or classmates treating them differently”.

At school, the children as enrolled as Archie Sussex and Lilibet Sussex, just like William and Kate’s children use ‘Wales’ as their surname.

“Harry remembers how important that little bit of normality was,” the source added. “You know who you are and everyone knows who your family is, but you can still walk into a classroom without your title entering first. Harry wants that for his children.”
