Buckingham Palace issues update as royal-Sussex feud escalates

King Charles’s Office is shifting its focus on the important work of the royal family as family drama takes an unfortunate turn following the return of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

It had only been two weeks since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived when the monarch was forced to issue a clarification on the royal status of the couple. The letter, which was issued on Monday via Lord Chamberlain, was allegedly a reaction to what was happening behind closed Palace doors.

However, the Firm is determined to keep the attention on the work of senior royals, including Prince Edward, as they shared an optimistic update on the visit to Geneva.

The Duke of Edinburgh had travelled to Switzerland to promote the DofE Award and its activities aimed at developing human skills in very digitised world.

“From digital transformation and the future of work, to the power of sport, education and international collaboration, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh’s visit to Geneva this week highlighted why Human Skills matter more than ever,” the message read.

It highlighted how the engagements “explored how young people can be supported to build confidence, resilience, judgement, teamwork and a sense of purpose in a rapidly changing world”.

Moreover, marking its 70th year of the award in the country, it sent a “clear” message: “when young people are given opportunities to challenge themselves, serve their communities and discover what they are capable of, they develop skills that last a lifetime.”

The update came at the heels of the escalating family drama. It is believed that the Palace was “spooked” by Harry and Meghan’s buzz in the Britain. The Palace was getting too many queries about the matter, hence, the King was forced to take a decisive step.
