Prince George debuts in Eton uniform: Spitting image of young William

Prince George debuted in the Eton uniform on Tuesday, presenting a spitting image of a young Prince William in the first photos released from his milestone day.

The 13-year-old shared a meaningful smile as he sported the institution's distinctive traditional attire, telling Britons that he's preparing for his destined role as royal.

The future king appears in good spirits in pictures, wearing a tailcoat, winged collars and white tie.

The young royal's enrolment follows in the footsteps of his father, who began his own studies at the same institution 31 years ago.

William and Kate's arrival with George echoed William’s own first day at Eton in September 1995, when the then-13-year-old prince was accompanied by both Princess Diana and then-Prince Charles.

Despite separating three years earlier, William’s parents came together for the milestone, with Prince Harry, then 10, also joining his older brother for the occasion.

Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, did not join their parents in seeing Prince George off on his first day at Eton.

While the young royal wore home clothes for the official greeting, new photos were released shortly after his arrival showing the royal sporting Eton’s distinct uniform.
