Prince William outshines Harry, Meghan with new honour: Video released

Prince William 'overshadowed' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's UK buzz with a rare honour in a new video.

The future King's friend and renowned Australian conservationist Steve Irwin shared a video with a special individual who was named "Prince William."

Steve introduced a 3.8-metre (12 feet, 6 inches) saltwater crocodile to the world, who was named after the Prince of Wales "in recognition of Prince William’s remarkable commitment to conservation and to mark the halfway point of The Earthshot Prize."

The environmentalist highlighted the remarkable work done by a world-leading research project on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve.

Steve explained, "Utilising the very same techniques that my dad, Steve Irwin, devised, this croc is fitted with a small tracker that will provide a decade of invaluable data - all to benefit the conservation of this species and its ecosystem.

"It’s an incredible milestone, and a reminder of how research can contribute to conservation over generations."

Steve Irwin is an ambassador for Prince William's passion project, the Earthshot Prize.

The honour presented to the Prince of Wales is special, as William is a leading advocate for wildlife and environmental conservation.

It is worth noting that Prince William was recognised for his remarkable work at the same time as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's UK return talks.
