Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's star-studded farewell in Montecito met with a shocking twist.

It has been reported that, in good times, their friends stood beside them, but as they wrapped up their US life, they were alone.

An insider told Rob Shutter the inside details about Harry and Meghan's spoiled party plans ahead of their historic UK return.

"They started quietly feeling people out, and the response was basically crickets. They imagined this emotional send-off surrounded by the people who welcomed them to America. Instead, everyone was busy. It was embarrassing," the source shared.

It was expected that the Sussexes would throw a big party with their real friends like Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry and others standing right beside them.

"Harry and Meghan genuinely believed they had built an American family," an insider added.

"When there was a royal wedding, a Netflix deal or a big interview, everybody wanted a seat at the table," Rob said. "For the goodbye party, suddenly nobody could find a free night."
