Prince William and Princess Kate are important to King Charles, as he has taken them on board to make a key family decision.
Since the news broke about Prince Harry's UK arrival, there were reports that the Prince and Princess of Wales were 'blindsided' about the matter.
The working royal was also not in favour of welcoming the Sussexes back to the fold, per claims.
According to many sources, this controversy fueled the possibility of a rift between the monarch and his eldest son William.
However, these rumours were put to rest as a friend of the King shared that he is immensely proud of William and Catherine.
Daily Beast reported that a pal of Charles said that the Duke of Sussex was "informally encouraged by King Charles to return to the U.K. because the king believes that the royal family is stronger united.
"The king’s faith has played a part, but ultimately this is a strategic decision for the good of the family. The stand-off needed to be resolved."
For King Charles, the future of the monarchy and William's suggestions are quite important, as the Waleses are the face of the monarchy.
