Anti-immigration right wing activist Milo Yiannopoulos detained by ICE

The United States (U.S.) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has detained an anti-immigration right wing activist Milo Yiannopoulos in Louisiana, the agency’s online database showed. However, the authorities haven’t publicly explained why the British political commentator was taken into custody.

According to CBS News, the 41-year-old commentator has worked closely with controversial rapper Ye, formerly Kanye West, over the years and he was in New Orleans ahead of the rapper’s concert scheduled for Friday night.

Yiannopoulos, a citizen of the United Kingdom (UK), is known for his provocative far-right political commentary. He has built a decent following on social media.

The right-wing activist was involved in the rapper Ye’s political operation during his 2024 presidential campaign and later worked with him as an adviser. His detention comes at an interesting moment given Yiannopoulos' previous support for aggressive immigration enforcement.

In June 2025, he called for ICE checkpoints at places including supermarkets, gas stations and government buildings, while also arguing that people unable to prove they were legally in the US should face immediate deportation.

He later called for legal immunity for ICE agents while they were on duty.

Yiannopoulos has also previously worked as an unpaid intern for Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and was involved in organizing the controversial 2022 dinner attended by Ye, Donald Trump and white nationalist Nick Fuentes.
