Taylor Swift reflects on 'Reputation' comeback after sudden disappearance

Taylor Swift experienced a pivotal moment in her career which inspired her album, Reputation, and spoke candidly about the unwarranted hate directed towards her back in the day.

The 36-year-old pop superstar was a victim of cancel culture during her feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, and ended up disappearing from the public eye for a year because she developed a deep distrust of people. 

Speaking about the dark time in her life personally and publicly, the Grammy winner told the crowd at the recent Icon Session, “It was a time in my life when for the very first time not the last…, people had really actively tried to misunderstand me just in general and to misunderstand what I was trying to say and to purposely misinterpret it—When people decide we’re all going to stand around someone and point and mock them — what can you say when they… overreact rather than react to anything what you say or do?”

Swifties, who are currently waiting on the re-recording of the 2017 album, flocked to social media and wrote, "OH THE ALBUM YOU ARE."

Another added, "'Not the last' omfg god pls send all her haters to HELL NOW," and "OH MOTHER."

A third chimed in, "When the world decided to misunderstand her on purpose, she turned the noise into reputation."

Someone penned, "clock them haters!"
