Newlyweds Coco Jones, Donovan Mitchell get surprise shoutout from J. Cole

Coco Jones screamed with joy as J. Cole gave her and husband Donovan Mitchell a sweet shoutout during his recent concert.

During the singer’s, whose full name is Jermaine Lamarr Cole, The Fall-Off World Tour stop at TD Garden in Boston on Friday, August 7, the newly married couple got an unexpected congratulatory message from the star of the night and their reaction was absolutely priceless.

The newlyweds were enjoying when the rapper took a moment during his performance to congratulate the couple on their recent marriage.

As the record producer acknowledged them from the stage, the Let It Shine actress looked stunned before erupting with excitement, while Mitchell stayed close behind her.

“I gotta show love and say congratulations, you know what I mean, to the newlywed Mitchells, Mr. and Mrs. Tyler and Coco Mitchell, I want to say a round of applause for them,” J. Cole said energetically.

The video showed the NBA star wrapping his arms around his wife from behind and affectionately touched her shoulder before planting a kiss on her cheek.

“Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchells, congratulations to y'all. God bless y'all and y'all family,” the 41-year-olf performer added. “Ladies and gentlemen, that's the type of shit that this song is about.”

The couple then flashed huge smiles as Jones, 28, screamed a bit over the special shoutout.

The sweet moment comes just days after Jones and Mitchell officially became husband and wife.

The Grammy-winning singer and the Cleveland Cavaliers player tied the knot on August 1 in front of family and friends, including several NBA stars and celebrity guests.

The couple, who have generally kept their relationship relatively private, announced their engagement in July 2025.

Now, just days into married life, Jones and Mitchell, 29, already collected an unforgettable memory together by getting congratulated by one of hip-hop’s biggest stars in front of a packed Boston crowd.
