Harry, Meghan 'end' years-long feud with public apology to King Charles

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set to put their egos aside for a fresh and positive start with the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly planning to issue a public apology to King Charles after the Highgrove meeting that was a ray of sunshine amid years of feud.

According to Rob Shutter, insiders claimed that the Sussexes may swallow their pride and acknowledge the pain caused to the royals. 

"It’s about acknowledging that the past five years have caused enormous pain. The debate now is over what an apology should say—and, just as importantly, what it shouldn’t," the source shared. 

Side by side public apology via a statement or video format, Harry and Meghan have also realised that the private conversations with the monarch are quite important for reconciliation. 

The source further said, "Everyone agrees trust has to be rebuilt. The challenge is finding language that gives the King the respect he wants without forcing Harry and Meghan to walk back every interview, documentary, or page of Spare."

The possible future apology from the Montecito couple is not about them surrendering, a Palace source told Rob. 

But, "It’s an acknowledgement that this family feud went too far. Charles wants peace—but he also wants respect. This could be the first real step toward both."
