'M3GAN 2.0' star Allison Williams confesses 'irony' about 'scream queen' title

Allison Williams may be the scream queen of Hollywood, but she can’t watch a horror movie on her own.

Williams appeared on The Sam Sanders Podcast and confessed that she gets anxious if she watches horror movies.

The M3GAN 2.0 star said, "I am a capital W, bona fide wimp," she said.

"I can only watch horror movies on planes. That's the only time I can watch them," she shared.

Williams’ career soared when she appeared as Rose Armitage in Jordan Peele’s directorial debut Get Out.

In the celebrated film, Rose lures her black boyfriend (Daniel Kaluuya) to her parents home in the countryside, where a sinister plan awaits.

The actress said, "I feel extremely lucky especially because the fans of horror are awesome, and without Get Out, I would not have had the opportunity to interact with them, I don't think."

Teasing her upcoming film M3GAN 2.0, she said, "There's two parts that are a little gory."

She shared that despite having seen the prosthetics in development, she still got scared when she saw them while filming the scene.

Williams said, "I watched the hair and makeup tests of those things. I watched those prosthetics be developed. Without spoiling anything, I was part of all the sequence meetings for the stunt sequences, every single production meeting having to do with it, and I still on the day [of filming] got lightheaded and couldn't look at the things in question."

After M3GAN 2.0, Allison Williams will be seen in Regretting You, which is based on a Colleen Hoover novel of the same name.
