'F1' producer says Brad Pitt 'loved' race car driving

Brad Pitt didn’t want to wrap filming the F1 movie.

F1 director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have revealed Brad’s saddest part of the day.

Speaking with People Magazine, Jerry said that the saddest day for the actor was when the filming of the movie was wrapped up.

He said, “The saddest day for Brad was when we said, 'It's a wrap,' and he had to climb out of the car. He just loved it.”

Adding of Brad’s co-star Damson Idris he said, “They both [did]. They had the best time.”

Joseph revealed that in order to prepare for the role Brad and Damson underwent four months of “really intense training to get up to the level they needed to shoot this movie.”

“They're both natural athletes, which made it possible to even make this film,” he added.

The producer also noted, “They trained really hard. They put four months in, just starting with the road car and then moving up to four-car.”

“They kept moving up to our car and they put that energy and time into it and they became one then — the car and their body and their mind — just centered on the driving and the racing,” Jerry added.

During the conversation, Joseph also revealed that Brad Pitt even impressed the seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton.

“I had Lewis Hamilton drive with Brad right at the beginning to kind of see his level of skill. And Lewis was really impressed that Brad kind of had that talent right out of the gate,” he said.

The F1 movie starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris was released today, June 27, 2025.
