Mariska Hargitay made a heartwarming documentary about her mom Jayne Mansfield and showed it to her siblings in an emotional moment.
Appearing on the latest episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, Hargitay shared that she had her siblings’ blessing to make the documentary, My Mom Jane.
Jayne was an actress in the 1950s and had five children in total: Jayne Marie Mansfield, whom she welcomed in 1950 with first husband Paul Mansfield.
Sons Miklós ‘Mickey’ Hargitay, Jr. and Zoltán Hargitay and daughter Mariska arrived in 1958, 1960 and 1964 respectively and shared with second husband Miklós ‘Mickey’ Hargitay.
Jayne welcomed Antonio ‘Tony’ Cimber in 1965 with third husband Matt Cimber.
The actress died in a car crash in 1967 at the age of 34. The Law & Order S.V.U star and her brothers Mickey Jr. and Zoltán were in the car but survived.
During her interview, Mariska told Seth how the siblings got emotional during a private screening of the film.
“I again, flew out just to show it to them, and we had this private screening. And it was one of the highlights of my life, really,” she said.
She added, “And there were four seats across, and so with one brother, then my sister, me, and my other brother, and within 10 minutes in, the four of us were sitting in two seats.”
She continued, “We held hands through the entire film, and it was just really beautiful. And we all cried, and my sister said, which was so moving to me, ‘I feel like we’re four people with one beating heart.'”
Mariska Hargitay was only three years old when she lost her mother, Jayne Mansfield.
