Real reason why Mariah Carey avoids birthdays

Mariah Carey has a really unusual perspective when it comes to time.

During a recent chat on Capital FM, the 56-year-old singer revealed that she doesn’t believe in idea of time passing, not even in celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

“Is it true you don’t acknowledge the passing of time?” the host Jordan North asked.

“That is true," she admitted.

The Love Takes Time singer explained, "I just don’t believe in it."

“So no clocks? Just not into that?” host Sian Welby inquired.

Carey responded by saying, "I just let it go. I don’t have a birthday, no. Anniversaries, yes."

About how she manages time when she herself does not acknowledge it, Carey revealed that she has managers who "figure it out" for her.

“If we were to meet up later, how would we know when? It’s on Mariah’s time,” North asked.

“I would have someone call you and figure it out," Carey replied.
