Clayface is the upcoming movie in the DC universe and Tom Rhy Harries has been tapped to play the leading role.
According to Variety, he is a relative newcomer as the franchise's co-head shared the details on social media.
“After a long and incredibly exhaustive search, we finally have our DCU Clayface in Tom Rhys Harries. Both [‘The Batman’ director] Matt Reeves and I were just blown away by this guy, and can’t wait for you to see this film," he said.
The Batman filmmaker Matt Reeves is producing while Mike Flanagan will pen the screenplay and James Watkins will direct.
However, the film will go to the floors in the fall and it is eyeing a release date of Sept 11, 2026.
Clayface's logline reads, "A B-movie actor who drinks a substance that’s supposed to help his career and which instead leaves him made entirely of clay. Think Death Becomes Her with fewer jokes."
On the other hand, James reflected on the upcoming installment of The Batman.
“That’s the other thing I hear all the time — that Batman Part II is canceled. It’s not canceled. We don’t have a script. Matt’s slow,” he told Rolling Stone.
The filmmaker told fans to “let [Reeves] take his time. Let him do what he’s doing. God, people are mean. Let him do his thing, man.”
The Batman Part: II is expected to be out on Oct 1, 2027.
