Meghan Markle’s decision to share images of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, is a calculated move to stay in control of her public image, claimed an expert.

According to brand and culture expert Nick Ede, the Duchess of Sussex is just trying to keep herself in the headlines by posting glimpses of her kids’ faces on her new Instagram.

Speaking to The Express, Ede suggested that by revealing glimpses of Archie and Lilibet, Meghan is strategically responding to online speculation while positioning herself as a devoted mother.

Most recently, Meghan shared a sweet and adorable video on her Instagram comprising of snippets of Prince Harry and their kids together to mark Father’s Day.

“The best,” the former actor captioned the post. “Happy Father’s Day to our favourite guy.”

The video had clear visuals of their kids when they were small. However, she hid their faces in videos which were filmed recently.

Further sharing his opinion on Meghan’s social media move, Ede said that these carefully timed “breadcrumbs” allow the Duchess to manage the narrative on her own terms.

“I think this is a strategy for Meghan to be in control of the narrative and to allow her fans a glimpse into her life and her children,” he said.

“There has been lots of internet speculation about the children and these breadcrumbs and teasers allow her to be in control, to stop speculation and to keep giving fans what they want, keeping her in the headlines and establishing her as a loving parent.

“She knows that by showing her kids faces it will break the internet and she's cleverly managing the narrative herself rather than someone leaking images of them to the media.”
