Dakota Johnson has just now opened up about why Hollywood is in a mess.
While promoting her movie Materialists on Hot Ones, she candidly discussed why she feels industry is 'risk-averse.'
“I think it’s hard when creative decisions are made by committee,” the Fifty Shades of Grey actress began.
“And it’s hard when creative decisions are made by people who don’t even really watch movies or know anything about them, and that tends to be what’s occurring a lot,” she added.
Recently, the Hollywood actress blamed a ‘lack of creativity’ for her movie, Madame Web, flop on box office.
"When something does well, studios want to keep that going so they remake the same things, but humans don’t want that,” the 35-year-old actress explained.
Before concluding, she shared, “They want fresh, they want to feel new things, experience new things, see new things, so I don’t know, I guess it’s all just a bit of a mess right now, isn’t it?”
For those unversed, in a recent year, Hollywood entered into Intellectual Property (IP) focusing its attention on remaking movies, which already have potential audience.
Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans starrer movie, Materialists, is scheduled to be released in cinemas on June 13, 2025.
