Princess Eugenie visited a Salvation Army safe house for survivors of modern slavery, said the charity in a social media statement.
The organization offers a wide range of services to help people in need, regardless of their background or beliefs.
The statement said, "HRH Princess Eugenie recently visited a Salvation Army safe house for survivors of modern slavery."
It added, "Two residents gave the Princess, who is a co-founder of The Anti-Slavery Collective, a tour of their home, including the gym, multi-faith room, sensory space and craft room. They then went on to do a lino printing session with other survivors of modern slavery who receive support at the safe house."
“When we meet people like the Princess, we feel our voice is heard,” one resident was quoted as having shared after her visit:
A video of Prince Andrew's daughter was also released on the charity's Instagram account where the Eugenie is seen visiting the facility and talking to the resident.
Eugenie undertook the visit to support the survivors of the modern slavery, which is defined by exploitation for profit through threats, coercion, or vulnerability. Her family on the other hand has long faced demands to pay reparations or make other amends for chattel slavery.
In 2023, King Charles gave his support to research that would examine the British monarchy's links to slavery after a newspaper report said a document showed a historical connection with a transatlantic slave trader.
The Guardian said an archive document discovered by historian Brooke Newman showed that in 1689 King William III had been given 1,000 pounds of shares in the Royal African Company (RAC) which was involved in the transportation of thousands of slaves from Africa to the Americas.
