Prince Harry has once again become a topic of conversation because of the way he’s effect King Charles’ Trooping of Color event.
The commentator that brought this to the forefront is editor Tom Skyes.
He penned it in a piece for the Daily Beast, and it highlighted how big a sore spot Prince Harry left in an already slimmed-down monarchy when he walked away with Meghan and their then-infant Prince Archie.
According to Mr Skyes “Charles’ failure to bring his son back into the fold is always highlighted on occasions such as these, and today’s pomp and ceremony was no different.”
Because “it was a stark contrast to days of yore,” he admitted. “When vast numbers of the extended Windsor clan gathered on the balcony of London’s Buckingham Palace.”
In those times the public saw kids turn to teenagers, and their uncles and aunts return to the ground.
It led the expert to point out how close the Firm were in those days, before King Charles.
Because even when the Firm was known as an “eccentric, privileged clan—highly dysfunctional,” they “somehow muddled through and put it all aside, once a year, in the name of family unity,” henoted, referencing Princess Diana.
For those unversed with King Charles’ ‘slimmed-monarchy’ narrative, he moved forward with it to cut senior royals from the list ensuing he saves on monthly paychecks, accommodations and balcony appearances for a more ‘efficient’ royal household.
But Prince Harry’s exit added a spanner in the works, because in doing so he left only seven senior royals. Namely, King Charles, Queen Camilla; Prince William, Princess Kate, the duke and duchess of Edinburgh, and Princess Anne.
