Karachi likely to receive rain from September 14: PMD
Low-pressure system over Bay of Bengal expected to bring rain to port city

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain and thunderstorms in Karachi starting September 14, under the influence of a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal.
The Met Office said the system had formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Odisha, and was currently located over Chhattisgarh and adjoining regions. It is expected to move westward.
Under its influence, several districts in Sindh — including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, and Tando Muhammad Khan — are expected to receive heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
Similarly, rain with thunderstorms is forecast for Sanghar, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Jamshoro from September 14 to 16.
For Karachi, the Met Office said light rain and thunderstorms are anticipated during the September 14–16 period.
Meanwhile, weather in the city is expected to remain hot and humid over the next two days, with maximum temperatures ranging between 36°C and 37°C.
Earlier, the Met Office also predicted rainfall across Punjab, saying that a westerly wave is expected to enter the upper parts of the country over the weekend and strengthen by September 14.
