Pete Davidson pays tribute to late firefighter father on ‘tough day'

Pete Davidson is remembering his beloved late father, Scott Davidson, on a particularly tough day.

25 years after the New York City firefighter lost his life while responding to the September 11 tragedy, his son honoured him in a heartfelt video message.

Speaking about his late father, the Saturday Night Live alum encouraged people to honour the anniversary by doing something good for someone else.

“Hi, I'm Pete. 25 years ago, my dad, Scott Davidson, was killed on 9-11. He was a firefighter with Ladder 118 in Brooklyn,” he said.

It “is usually a tough day,” The Pickup star described. He also gave a shoutout to an organization, which is doing “something cool where you do a good deed for someone and you pass it along.”

He continued, “So let's show up for each other. I think my dad would have loved that.”

“So let's unite for good,” the 32-year-old actor and comedian concluded.

For the unversed, Pete was only seven years old when his father died. Scott was a firefighter with Ladder Company 118 in Brooklyn Heights and was among the first responders who rushed toward the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

However, this years his father’s death anniversary felt different to Pete as he is now a father himself.

Notably, the Bupkis actor and Elsie Hewitt welcomed their daughter, Scottie Rose, in December 2025. The little girl was named in honour of Pete's late father.

Moreover, Pete has previously opened up about how becoming a dad changed the way he thinks about his father's death.
