Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's biggest fear chased them back as the couple's tensions with the media is said to be flaring again.

The Duke of Sussex has long complained about the UK media was a key driver of the problems that led him and Meghan to quit royal life.

In the early weeks of their return to his home country those tensions appear to be hitting again, most recently over a tabloid front page story about his relationship with King Charles III.

First the couple won a correction from an outlet in August over an inaccurate story about them visiting celebrity friends.

Now, some media outlets claim that Harry and King Charles have not spoken after the Duke moved back to the UK.

However, Newsweek has been told that the father-son duo spoke in the week after the Sussexes relocated to Britain.

The Sussexes' return is still in its earliest stages, but a key test of how they fit back into UK life will be how they navigate the tensions that originally led them to leave royal duties and move to America.

Key drivers included a fued with family and palace staff as well as heated criticism in the media, which they have previously said was fueled by an agenda.

 Afua Hagan, a prominent UK based royal commentator, told the outlet: "This is a concern for everyone because it's going back to what happened before. It is a re-run of the same, briefing against each other."

"To be honest, they should have expected this and it's a shame we've just gone back to the same old, same old but this is to be expected," Hagan said. "It's boring and unnecessary but it sells papers.

"They're back in the lions den, they're just going to have to get on with it."
