Diddy's release date changed again after he was name-dropped in Tupac trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ projected prison release date has changed yet again, just two weeks after the music mogul was name-dropped during Tupac Shakur’s murder trial.

According to Bureau of Prisons records reviewed by multiple outlets, Combs, 56, is now expected to be released on February 5, 2028 — several months earlier than the date originally projected following his sentencing.

Combs, 56, has been behind bars since his September 2024 arrest. After a two-month trial that began in May 2025, Combs was sentenced to 50 months in October, with time already served counting toward his sentence. His projected release date was initially set for May 8, 2028.

The three-time Grammy was transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to Fort Dix in New Jersey to begin serving his sentence. Since then, his release date has shifted several times, moving from April 25 to April 15, then February 23 and now February 5, 2028.

Last month, reports claimed his release date had been moved up again to January 24, 2028, despite reports that he had been involved in a prison brawl. However, Page Six noted that the Bureau of Prisons website had not reflected the reported change at the time.

The latest update comes shortly after former gang leader Duane “Keefe D” Davis was found guilty of orchestrating Shakur’s 1996 murder.

During the two-week trial, former LAPD detective Daryn Dupree testified that Davis once claimed Combs had put a $1M hit out on Shakur, though he never made the payment.

Speaking to TMZ, Combs’ camp dismissed the allegations as “bogus” and emphasised that he “had absolutely nothing to do with the Tupac murder.”
