Late Rob and Michele Reiner‘s son Jake Reiner embarked on a new journey just eight months after his parents’ deaths.

The 35-year-old has tied the knot with his fiancée Maria Gilfillan in a small ceremony in early August.

Their nuptials marks a fresh chapter in Jake’s life after the tragic deaths of his parents.

American filmmaker and his wife, who was a photographer and producer were found dead from multiple stab wounds on December 14, 2025, in their Los Angeles home.

In Jake’s recent interview with KABC-TV‘s Marc Cota-Robles about his life since his parents’ deaths. he appeared to wear a wedding band.

During the interview, he spoke about the shock of the killings of his parents, in connection with which his brother, Nick Reiner, was arrested.

Nick, 32, has since been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

“It’s been eight months. It feels like eight years at the same time. And it also feels like eight minutes,” Jake said in the interview. “Because every moment that I wake up, I’m reminded of my reality.”

Jake described the shock he felt the moment his sister Romy, 28, called him to their childhood home, the scene of their parents’ deaths. He noted that he had seen crime scenes throughout his career as a local news reporter, but was shocked to find his own family at the center of one.

Throughout the interview, Jake declined to answer questions about his brother Nick and his alleged role in the deaths of his parents.

He was arrested hours after his parents’ murder near the campus of the University of Southern California and has been held without bail since.

Nick remains behind bars at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles and is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing on September 15.

If convicted as charged, Nick faces death or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
