Liam Payne's unseen photo sparks questions about his final hours

Liam Payne’s final hours have came under new attention after new police files revealed previously unseen photos and details from the day he died.

The One Direction star died in October 2024 after falling from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the age of 31.

The newly released files show how troubled his final hours were as hotel records, photos and witness statements described chaotic scene inside his room, while CCTV captured Payne walking through the hotel shortly before his death.

His father, Geoff Payne, also gave a heartbreaking statement to investigators.

He said his son “went away” when he was dealing with his problems and added: “He was not in control with what he did. He was not Liam.”

One newly seen picture, however, has raised a different possibility about what happened.

The photo reportedly shows Payne holding onto a pole outside the hotel at around 3.21am. A source, moreover, close to the investigation said police consider the image important because it showed his physical strength.

This then sparked some massive theory that Payne may have tried to climb from his room and believed he could hold his weight, before losing his grip.

The exact events may never be fully known.
