Prince Willam breaks silence on homeless crisis as King welcomes back Harry

The future British monarch, Prince William, took a bold step on homelessness days after King Charles opened palace doors to estranged son Prince Harry.

The Prince and Princess of Wales' official Instagram on Tuesday shared a new behind-the-scenes glimpse of his latest engagement, highlighting a collaborative workshop focused on tackling homelessness.

The latest post comes after Harry vows to make all his efforts to bring his family back to the UK in July for his Invictus Games event.

William urged society to fundamentally reconsider its understanding of why people end up without homes 

At the central London venue, William delivered a speech, saying: "At the heart of this is a shift in how we see homelessness, because homelessness is not an individual failure, it is a systemic failure."

The heir to the throne emphasised: "And if systems can help create a problem, systems can help prevent it."

"These aren't just statistics, they are people who have a home, a job and a future that are very different to only a few years ago," William said.

The Homewards Fund has channelled £1.9 million directly into its target communities, with an additional £3.5 million secured through grants and private donations.

The workshop appears to focus on collaboration, with community members, experts, and partners sharing experiences and discussing practical ways to prevent homelessness before it reaches crisis point.

The Homewards programme, launched by heir to the British throne, aims to demonstrate that homelessness can be reduced through coordinated action between charities, local authorities, businesses, and communities.
