Prince Andrew not in the clear yet despite escaping Charges

Prince Andrew has been told that his troubles are not over yet amid reports that he won’t face charges in the FBI’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.

While the decision clears the “disgraced” Duke of York, a royal expert claimed that it does little to fix his damaged reputation.

Andrew, who stepped down from royal duties in 2019, has always denied any wrongdoing and settled a lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre without admitting guilt.

Writing for The Telegraph, Deputy Royal Editor Victoria Ward shared that some people close to him may see the FBI’s decision as a sign he’s in the clear, but that’s not the case.

"For while the decision not to pursue those connected to Epstein may well be a weight off the Duke’s shoulders, it changes nothing,” she penned.

"In fact, one could argue the decision to close the case does not help him at all,” Ward continued.

“If the Duke is innocent, as he has long protested, he would have been better served by the FBI either opening its files to the public or conducting a thorough investigation."

While the verdict "will be perceived by his closest circle of friends and advisors as an exoneration,” it does not mean he will be granted his senior royal position back, the expert shared,

It is "far too late" for Andrew, Ward claimed, adding that "moving on has never been such a distant prospect."
