Bad Bunny gave his latest music video a political spin on account of the Fourth of July.

The Puerto Rican artist, 31, dropped the official music video for his single NUEVAYoL on Friday, which featured a voice cameo sounding like US President Donald Trump.

The music video, directed by Renell Medrano, opened with a nostalgic quinceañera scene before shifting to pointed commentary on US immigration.

The sequence showed a nervous 15-year-old honoree, dancing chambelanes, and a host of raucous family members.

However, some noteworthy shots against Trump included a scene where Bad Bunny salutes from the crown of the Statue of Liberty, draped in a Puerto Rican flag.

The video then cuts to a group of men standing around a 1970s-style boombox. The sound coming from the speaker was a Tump-like voice, delivering a parody apology.

“I made a mistake," the voiceover begins. "I want to apologise to the immigrants in America. I mean the United States. I know America is the whole continent."

"I want to say that this country is nothing without the immigrants. This country is nothing without Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans." The group listening shuts it off and walks away.

The video closes with images of the Puerto Rican community in New York and a simple message, "juntos somos mas fuertes" — "Together we are stronger."

Bunny's political jibe comes a week after the US administration escalated political unrest with anti-immigration policies.

This isn't Bunny's first song rooted in politically-charged messages. Another such example was his song Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
