Lewis Capaldi just marked an impeccable comeback!
As per Official Charts, the musician, who marked his return to music with his performance at 2025's Glastonbury festival, scored the biggest opening week of his career, with his latest single, Survive, becoming this week’s Official Number 1.
Moving a whopping 68,500 chart units in its opening week, including over 4 million streams, the track has dethroned Lewis’s previous 56,000-unit best, 2022’s Forget Me.
Additionally, Survive has also scored the biggest opening week of any Number 1 single in the year 2025, surpassing Sabrina Carpenter’s newest single, Manchild, which garnered 62,400 chart units in its opening week.
“Survive is this week’s UK Number 1, and I want to say a massive thank you to everybody who’s been streaming it, downloading it – it really means the world,” Lewis told Official Charts exclusively.
The Someone You Love hitmaker continued, “I’ve been away for a little while, and to come back to this outpouring of love and support has been absolutely incredible."
Speaking of his comeback, which came after he took a break to manage his worsening symptoms of Tourette's syndrome, the singer mentioned, "I can’t thank everybody enough for all the kind words since Glastonbury – and now this! It’s been the best week of my life.”
“I hope you all continue to enjoy the song, it means a lot to me,” Lewis Capaldi concluded.
