Lizzo gets candid about isolation during legal battle

Lizzo revealed how she overcame one of the hardest times in her life.

The 37-year-old singer appeared in a recent cover story of Women's Health published on July 1 and talked about a period in her life when she felt “very paranoid and isolated.”

Recalling the time after being sued by three of her former backup dancers in August 2023, Lizzo shared, “I got very paranoid and isolated,”

“I used to walk into glam and be like, ‘Oh, let me tell you about this crazy s**** that happened last night!’ I couldn’t do that anymore,” she continued. “I pushed everyone away. I wasn’t even talking to my therapist. I wasn’t present. I wasn’t open. I wasn’t myself anymore.

Lizzo admitted that she reached an extreme level of hopelessness that she thought there is no point of living, “It got to the point where I was like, ‘I could die.’ … If everyone hates you and thinks you’re a terrible person, then what’s the point?”

However, after few months of this depressive episode she attended Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour and felt positive.

“It made me feel like, wow, maybe I don’t want to die,” Lizzo said. “Life is worth living.”
