Rachel Zegler is opening up about how she coped with the criticism that came with the adaptation of the 1973 hit Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The actress, 24, recently revealed in an interview with i-D Magazine that she sought professional help to move past the backlash emotionally.

“My f****** psychiatrist has seen me through all of it,” she told the magazine, adding that they reminded her, “‘What you’re going through isn’t normal.'”

“That sentence did such wonders for me in multiple situations in my life,” Zegler added.

Zelger, who is now starring in a revival of 1978 musical Evita in London's West End, also admitted to taking anti-anxiety medicine, calling the decision "truly a gamechanger."

"I just wasn’t functioning. And I wanted to function in a way that made me feel confident in the way I was moving through the world,” she told the magazine.

Zelger added that she is also mindful of her reactions to situations.

“I think a victim mindset is a choice, and I don’t choose it,” she told the outlet. “I also don’t choose nastiness in the face of it. I don’t choose negativity in the face of it.

"I choose positivity and light and happiness," she continued. "And I do believe at times, happiness is absolutely a choice, and every day I wake up and I think I’m very lucky to live the life I live.”
