Gwyneth Paltrow's eager to stay close to Chris Martin's ex Dakota Johnson

Gwyneth Paltrow wants to maintain her bond with Dakota Johnson despite the Fifty Shades star's recent split from Chris Martin.

Paltrow, who shares two kids with Martin, is said to have “developed a close friendship” with Johnson and “fully intends on maintaining that bond,” per a source who spilled to People Magazine.

Paltrow 52, and the Materialists actress, 35, “have grown close over the years and Gwyneth even considers Dakota family," the source added.

“There’s a genuine mutual respect between Gwyneth and Dakota, and they have a lot in common,” the source added.

“They both grew up in the spotlight, have been in the business for years, and really relate to each other’s experiences.”

Johnson and Martin's breakup was confirmed on Wednesday following speculations that their nearly eight-year, on-off relationship was over.

The initial news of a budding romance between Johnson and Martin came less than two years after his divorce from Paltrow was finalised, with who he shares daughter Apple, 21, and son Moses, 19.

Martin, 48, and Paltrow, 52, “consciously uncoupled” in 2014 after 11 years of marriage.
