Sabrina Carpenter already answered a rather burning question: Is Manchild about her ex, Barry Keoghan?

In her Instagram post, when the Espresso hitmaker released the audio to her track, she explained that Manchild was written at a time while she was with the 32-year-old Irish actor.

“i wrote manchild on a random tuesday with amy and jack not too long after finishing short n’ sweet and it ended up being the best random tuesday of my life,” the pop star wrote, referring to Jack Antonoff (who co-produced the track with her) and Amy Allen.

Sabrina continued, “not only was it so fun to write, but this song became to me something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life.”

“it sounds like the song embodiment of a loving eye roll and it feels like a never ending road trip in the summer ! hence why i wanted to give it to you now- so you can stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long!” the Please Please Please crooner further mentioned.

“thank you always and forever for listening and thank you men for testing me!!” she concluded.

It is pertinent to mention that Sabrina Carpenter posted the upload before dropping the music video for the song, Manchild.

This song carries on the tradition for which the pop star is known for, that is, putting the other gender in their collective place.

Manchild is assumed to be the title track of Sabrina’s upcoming album however there is no official news about the album.
