On May 12, a user on X (formerly Twitter) posted an image, claiming it shows the cricket stadium in Rawalpindi destroyed by an Indian missile strike under “#Operation Sindoor.” The post has over 11.4 million views, 14,000 reposts, and 129,000 likes.

Another user shared the same image in Hindi, claiming India destroyed the stadium with a drone strike.

The image does not show the Rawalpindi cricket stadium.

Geo News reporter Arfa Feroz Zake visited the stadium on May 15 and sent photographs to Geo Fact Check, showing the stadium intact and undamaged.

While a CNN report on May 9 showed drone strike damage near the stadium, the stadium itself remained unharmed.

It must be added that Geo Fact Check could not independently verify the location of the viral images being circulated online.

Verdict: The claim is baseless. The viral image does not show the Rawalpindi cricket stadium destroyed in an Indian drone attack.
